2021 Summer Staff Jobs
For 2021, we are hiring staff at both of our camps: Camp Mystic Guadalupe River and Camp Mystic Cypress Lake. We are hiring both male & female staff.
The 2021 work dates for Camp Mystic Guadalupe River are: May 26th to August 13th.
The 2021 work dates for Camp Mystic Cypress Lake are: June 10th to July 30th.
Qualifications:
- No experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age if living and working at the camp. If commuting locally, must be 16+ years of age.
- Child abuse prevention training is required upon hire.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a good disposition and enjoy working around others.
Kitchen Preparation
The main responsibilities for the kitchen preparation position are:
- Food preparation. Things like cutting salad, scooping muffins, icing cakes, etc.
- Serving the wait staff the food before each meal.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized.
- Must complete and pass an online food handler test. Upon hiring, we will supply the link and voucher for the test.
Dining Hall Cleaning Staff
The main responsibilities for dining hall cleaning staff are:
- Wiping down tables after meals. Sweeping and moping after meals.
- Making sure the dining hall is clean and looks nice.
- Setting clean utensils and plates on each table before meals.
- Helping put away kitchen deliveries.
- Occasionally helping with dishwashing.
Camp Store/Cleaner
The main responsibilities for the camp store/cleaner position are:
- Cleaning the Office and a few other main buildings.
- Stocking the cabins with supplies.
- Sorting the mail.
- Helping with snacks at the camp store and selling merchandise.
Grounds/Maintenance
The main responsibilities for the grounds/maintenance position are:
- Keeping the grounds looking nice. General landscaping.
- Helping fix equipment and structural breaks.
- Setting up equipment before camp events.
- Picking up trash from the cabins each day.
Horse Wrangler
The main responsibilities for the horse wrangler position are:
- Keeping the stables clean.
- Keeping the horses healthy and fed.
- Assisting with riding classes.
